Return To School And Covid-19

Schools are historically the safest place that we can assure for our children to be, and for them to learn.. The resurgence of COVID-19 has caused concern and uncertainty, creating an incredible challenge for our schools as we start the new school year.

In order to ensure our students and staff are safe, we need comprehensive safety protocols in place at our schools. We need to enforce following these safety measures by every person entering the school, including parents and guardians.

It will be important for parents to reassure their children the school is safe by discussing the protocols their schools have put in place, including masks, safe distancing, washing hands, using plexiglass barriers, etc.

Ultimately, only through vaccination will we slow down and control the spread of the COVID-19 virus.  Schools and districts must work closely with their county health departments to promote vaccinations and testing for anyone over the age of 12.
