I just received my Red Tricycle Newsletter. It is urging that I resist the temptation to
stay indoors this weekend. And while it does focus
on things to do in San Francisco, but I think their point applies no matter
where you are.
If you don’t subscribe to the Red Tricycle Newsletter, or
haven’t had the opportunity to read the latest issue, here is what they recommend.
Today
1. Introduce your little ones to jazz
music during a pint-sized concert.
2. Get crafting with your whole crew
at the Richmond Art Center’s workshop.
3. Cruise up to Tahoe to spend some
time skiing, snowboarding and playing in
the snow.
4. Grab your golden ticket to see an awesome production of Willy Wonka Jr.
5. Make it a pizza night at
a great new Neapolitan-style pizzeria.
6. Celebrate the grand opening of
the Presidio Visitor Center
with live music, food trucks and tours.
Tomorrow
2. Head to the Seymour Marine Discovery Center
to make crafts inspired by the ocean.
3. Brunch, anyone? Treat the fam to a special meal
at a restaurant with early opening hours.
4. Bundle up to watch a mini production of the
Snow
Queen.
5. Score free admission to the Academy of
Science to hang out with the penguins, fish,
alligators and more.
Fortunately, in Albuquerque where we live, this weekend will
produce good weather. And while it was quite
chilly this morning, it is going to get balmy.
At times it is so difficult to make the decision to put work
down and enjoy life, however, knowing that there are things that need to get
done around the house, running errands, returning phone calls, etc. And therefore, those fun things that I would
do if I listened Red Tricycle – “have fun” go to the bottom of the To Do
list.
Well, this weekend I will be making a concerted effort to
spend some time outside, and enjoy the beauty that is found outdoors in the
Southwest.
